DentalGoodNews｜According to a report by Southern Metropolis Daily, on April 13, 2026, the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau in Guangdong Province issued a "Notice of Rectification Within a Time Limit" to the private Dongguan Oral Hospital (registered as "Dongguan Oral Hospital (Dongguan Aichijian Oral Hospital)"), directly pointing out that its institution name violates Article 47 of the "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Medical Institutions," and requiring it to submit an application for name change before April 27.

According to the Southern Metropolis Daily report, a relevant person in charge of Dongguan Oral Hospital stated that the hospital has formally submitted a written reply to the Health Bureau's Medical Administration Department, refusing to cooperate with the name change, and has fully authorized a professional legal team to protect its rights in accordance with the law. The hospital insists that it holds the brand legitimately and compliantly, and its current core goal is to maintain brand continuity.

It is reported that during the 2025 Dongguan Two Sessions, Hong Qian, a municipal people's congress representative and president of Guancheng Hospital, submitted a proposal titled "Suggestions on Establishing a Public Oral Hospital in Dongguan and Promoting High-Quality Development of Oral Medicine." Additionally, municipal political advisor Tu Hua also submitted a proposal, suggesting that the private "Dongguan Oral Hospital" be urged to change its name to prevent confusion and mislead patients.

In response, the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau publicly replied on its official website, clearly stating that establishing a public oral hospital in Dongguan "has certain feasibility and social value," and proposed a development path encouraging qualified public hospitals to transition toward oral specialties. Subsequently, at the Dongguan Health Work Conference held on March 5, 2026, it was further clarified that Guancheng Hospital would cooperate with the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University to jointly build a public "Dongguan Oral Hospital."

According to Articles 47 and 48 of the "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Medical Institutions," medical institutions are generally allowed to use only one name, and health administrative departments have the authority to correct inappropriate registered names.

As of now, the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau has not made an official response to the hospital's refusal letter. According to the Southern Metropolis Daily report, the bureau had previously warned that if the name change was not completed within the deadline, it would enforce corrective measures according to law and its authority.
